Moto X 2014 GUI Not loading, and wont unlock. Any way to recover data before format?

Hi everyone,
A few days ago I ran my Moto X 2014 out of battery while watching a video. It just shut off, which has come to be normal with its older battery. However, after it shut off it seemed to have corrupted much of the data for the GUI, and even what loads wont properly unlock the phone. I have tried wiping the catche, holding power + volume for 3 minutes (as reccomended by motorola support) and more at no avail. I am wondering if there is any way to recover my photos and some other data without getting into the OS? My computer can see the phone, but since it is not unlocked I cannot access any of the file system. If there is it would be a great help, as I did not back up my phone. If you have any possible idea how to lmk, I am ready to try nearly anything.
Thanks

No Mobile Data Problem

Back story:
Got used unlocked rooted Galaxy Nexus Toro from friend
Wiped
Tried updating to newer Cyanogen Mod - Failed
Found out b/c old recovery version
Updated Recovery to TWRP v2.8.7.0
Flashed CM 11-20140913-NIGHTLY-toro AV:4.4.4
Flashed Gapps from OpenGapps Aroma
connected to wifi and completely configured

The Problem:
After I left wifi coverage I realized I had no mobile data
can make calls but no internet or mms
No LTE icon but white bars do show signal
when i drop down the quick access menu the bars are orange
under settings>about phone> status
Network: Verizon Wireless
Signal strength: -93dBm 2asu
Mobile Network type: CDMA eHRPD
Service state: in service
Roaming: not roaming
Mobile Network state: Disconnected

under testing menu> Phone information
Signal strength: -93dBm 2asu
Neighboring CID: unknown
GSM service: In service
GPRS service: Disconnected
Network Type: 1xRTT
Radio Resets: 0
Data attempts: 0
Data successes: 0
Preferred network type: LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)

Things tried:
Set APN manually
Reset APN to default
Made sure data is enabled
Dialed *228
Went to Verizon and got new SIM installed/activated

At this point I have no ideas. I would really preffer to not flash my phone seeing as I have it completely set up how I like it, also from what I've read that likely won't help. Any help is greatly appreciated.

moto xt1052 1st Gen Asia Retail - Issue with Wifi and Bluetooth

Hi all,

I am not a techie guy, but i have tried most of the things available online to solve the issue in my Moto X device. Need some help here. I own a Moto XT1052 from Asia retailer bought in 2014. The phone is amazing, however recently the wifi started playing up with intermittent loss of connection.
Upgrade details
The default OS was Kitkat 4.4.4, which was upgraded to Lollipop 5.1 over the air in August 2015. The phone did not show any specific issues until April 2016.
So far, I have tried troubleshooting in following areas:
Router or internet issue: - Eliminated
This issue was not with specific router or wifi access point, but for all the wifi access points I used to connect to or the new ones.
I also checked MAC filtering in two of the routers, which i was facing issues with.
Installed App issues - Eliminated
The issue continued even in safe mode.

1. Switching off WIFI and then turning on
2. Factory reset through software and recovery mode
3. Reinstalling StockROM to Kitkat 4.4.4 so as to eliminate OS upgrade issues.
4. Reinstalling Lollipop 5.1 (tried EU, GB and Asia)

Now the Wifi & Bluetooth wont turn on at all and the MAC address is "unavailable"
In one of the threads, i read the persist folder contains the necessary files for WIFI and Bluetooth. So i rooted the device through SuperSU and TWRP to check the system files. However, I do not have the folder named "persist"

I am not sure if persist folder is brand/ model specific. Please Help.

Hopefully the T-Mobile has an unlocked bootloader

I have had several HTC phones on T-Mobile, my last one was the HTC One M8, which was easily unlocked through the HTC dev website to unlock the bootloader, which made it easy them to Root and more importantly install TWRP for ROM's.

Any word if this will still be the case through T-Mobile ?

HTC Power button broken + USB Cable not detected by the PC

Hello,

My name is Adrian and i have a problem with my HTC One Mini.

Two weeks ago i dropped the phone on the ground and the part where the power button is situated broke so i had the "smartest" idea to stick it back with super glue. When i did that i managed to glue my power button at is now was not working so i thought that i should try and separate the button from the sensors and i kinda broke it worse, now i brooked the sensors it's torn and i cannot power up the phone. Since then i managed to keep my phone charged so it could not lock, so that i should have not been forced to use the power button but yesterday my battery drained out so now the phone is dead. I managed to charger it and now it's says 100% .. but the cable is not recognized by the PC and i am not able to perform the actions that i have read above :( "volume down + home + USB cable in", etc... What do you recommend me to do please?

Thank you in advance!

How would I go about installing Cyanogenmod?

I'm sorry in advance if this is a noob question.

Hello all, I just got my LG G3 yesterday. I used the downgrade method with the tot file and the special DLL to get to 10b (from 47a), then I OTA'd all the way to 23c. Then, I rooted it and installed TWRP from the auto rec app. After all of this, I wanted to install Cyanogenmod 12.1 (the latest release on their website). The problem is that I don't know how to do this. I've been trying to search the internet on how to do this, but I've gotten mixed results on what to do. Do I just go to TWRP, install CM, install gapps, and be done with it? Or am I missing steps/doing it wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to do that with the i9505 variant overclocked to 2.3ghz?

tl;dr : S4 i9506 has 2.3ghz, S4 i9505 can be overclocked from 1.9 to 2.3, can we archieve THIS type of mods?

We need a new custom permissive kernel for the S7 Edge and the regular S7.

hi, i am just wondering where all the great kernel dev's are, and why we aren't seeing a bunch of new custom kernels for these two new excellent devices? we are seeing great progress with the new custom roms being developed, but all of that is extremely limited until we have some permissive kernels. is it possible to recover internal memory from dead phone?

Quick story- My trusty SPH-L720T crapped out and wouldn't boot. I had CWM recovery and Slim Roms running great. It would show battery charging when plugged in, but the top of the phone would get moderately hot. Tried a new battery but same issue. When turned on it show initial startup screen then go black and turn off. Upon disassembly/reassembly the screen is now cracked @#$@#%^~!!@!!@

I'm going to buy a junk phone on Ebay to at least have a functioning screen, but any guidance on what my next step would be?

Also, I'm thinking it doesn't matter if I buy a "bad ESN" phone to use the parts off of. Or if there is a part of the phone that has the memory on it that I can just place in the junk phone, turn it on and pull the files.

Thanks!

Severe battery drain when idle (5.8%/hr)

I used to get close to 2 days of idle time on my phone now I'm barely hitting 12 hours.

If anyone herard of it - is it the best for 50$?
Do you have a good expirience with your own (up to 50+-) car-cam?
Must say: during summer weather here is HOT (average temperatures in summer 31-32)
So if you heard that a spesific camera is able to survived - it would be the best.

No Recovery Mode after upgrade CM 13

Hi guys, I have a problem with my LG G2 16gb. Today I have upgraded CM 13 with the last nightly. After having flashed Rom and Gapps I rebooted the system. The system runs but with some bugs (dialer crashes, screen doesn't wake up anymore when it goes in standby mode). So I decided to come back to the previous nightly, but I suddenly appreciated that I can't go in recovery mode.

I can go in download mode but both Flashtool and SRKtool don't work. I really don't know how to do.
I admit that I'm not able to resolve 2% problem with the fix.
I read that if I try to flash a firmware 10A then Flashtool should work, but I didn't manage to find a mirror of it.

Someone could help me? I Would be grateful :o

[Q] Back Button and Menu Soft Keys Note Working

Hi
My Galaxy Note 3's (SM-N900W8) back and menu soft keys are not working properly.

Cause:
After rooting my phone and using it with a custom rom (Resurrection Remix-M-v5.6.5-20160319-hlte ROM) for a couple months, i decided to unroot it and return it back to stock rom / firmware (Android 5.0 Lollipop N900W8VLU2DOH1). Once successfully returned back to the stock OS, I soon learned that my back and menu soft keys are no longer functioning.

Detailed Problem:
- Menu key opens up S Finder instead of "menu pop-ups"
- Once S Finder opens up, it takes about 30 seconds for the menu key to "respawn" and become pseudo-functional again
- haptic feedback works as usual
- Back key is completely unresponsive
- Both key's backlit light illuminate
- Both keys function properly when running either Samsung's Stock Android 4.2.2 or a custom rom like Resurrection Remix

Trials:
- Flashed undesired stock 4.2.2 firmware (and discovered that both keys work) then updated OTA to Lollipop 5.0 (the problem reappears)
- Reflashed various stock lollipop firmware (Rogers vs Fido variant) (from Sammobile) -> problem persists
- Flashed undesired custom rom (resurrection remix) -> both keys again function properly
- Wipe cache through both stock and twrp recovery (obviously on seperate occasions) -> problem persists
- Factory Reset from phone's settings, through the phone's stock recovery, and through TWRP recovery -> problem persits

Conclusion:
It is obvious that the soft keys themselves are not damaged / broken, but there seems to be a software issue. I don't think it's safe to say that the firmware is corrupt, since I tested it from OTA Samsung servers and tried two variations of the firmware from Sammobile. It is odd to see that the menu key opens up S Finder rather than the proper menu options. Anyone have any suggestions, solutions, or ideas on the problem? I would love to be able to run my phone again on stock android 5.0 lollipop touchwiz firmware (no custom rom).

Your help is much appreciated! :D

  • 5 glass screen protectors with the whipes and such to clean and apply
  • A clear Urban Armor Gear case
  • Genuine back leather (mint color, with NFC of course)
  • White back (with NFC, they said it was original, but it didn't come in the genuine box with the hologram from LG)
  • a spare battery (probably not original)
  • A spare charger
  • European adapter for the charger
  • A regular plastic screen protector
  • 3 other cases I got online a while back

What do you guys think? Start it at like 20? more? less?

G4 data stuck between G & E and no higher. Stumped.

Hello all. I have an unlocked H815 on 6.0 that's with Virgin in the UK.

For the last 2-3 months the data speed has refused to go above E and is often G even in urban areas and sometimes there's none at all. I've seen H for around eight seconds in all that time.

I've done factory resets, Virgin have sent a new sim, messed around with network modes. Nothing changes.

What's doubly weird is that I get H without changing a thing when I'm abroad. Alternative sims pick up 4G just fine in the UK.

I've pretty much run out of ideas. The data is usable sometimes but as that's my main purpose for having the phone it's getting on my nerves.

Does anyone have any ideas?

[APP] (KK) Notifications like Lollipop

Heads-up Notifications

No root required
With Heads-up, any device can get the heads-up notifications introduced in the Android 5.0 "Lollipop
HIGHLIGHTS:
Heads-up displays the latest notification as a floating popup, complete with full text and quick actions (4.1+).
Works on everything running Android 3.1 and newer.
You're in control: Heads-up has five pages of customization, so you'll get notified your way.
Pocket detection – when you get a message, Heads-up turns the screen on if you take your phone out of the pocket! (Kind of like AcDisplay. Note: this causes a tiny increase in battery usage if you get a ton of notifications)
Privacy on the lock screen (and in general - Heads-up doesn't even have internet permission, so it can't send your private data anywhere)
Oh, and it's known to work on some smartwatches.

Heads-up is not a lockscreen app, so don't expect it behave like the Lollipop lockscreen.

Carrier Locked to Unlocked (Europe)

Folks.. I've searched here but couldn't find the right answer!

I got two Galaxy S7's, one for me and one for my wife.. we both signed up a contract with Vodafone Ireland a month ago for the next two years! But unfortunatelly she's now in Italy for personal porpuses and can't use any carries cause our phones are Locked to Vodafone IE, since the Galaxy is a fresh release I couldn't see many thing relating to this on Google/Internet!
I've been to Vodafone Store and they said I must have 06 months contract to get an Unlocker Code from them, so I show up at C.E.X which is big Store here in Ireland that Unlock Phones legally, but they said the company they work to Unlock the phones sent them a message saying that they're not allowed to Unlock Galaxy S7 as they stop working after the procedure!

Has anyone tried to Unlock their Carrier Locked phones recently?? Did something happened??
In my opnion this is all b*llsh*t as I did with many Samsung Devices before and nothing like this happened so far, but I'd rather ask here before proced to Unlock OnLine than mess up with "my precious"! Hahaa' :o

Thanks Anyways. ;)

hab check failed for boot

Hi all,

I have a Telus XT1097 with Android 6.0. Yesterday I used KingRoot to unlock the Bootloader, which, after restart, has locked me into fastboot.

I downloaded the 6.0 firmware from here and followed the directions to flash from here, using mfastboot from here.

I'm aware *now* that I could have simply unlocked the Bootloader by going here, something I've since done, but when I try to unlock the Bootloader now, I get a "Check 'Enable OEM Unlock' in Developer Options." message.

After a few failed flashes (and thanks to the fix here), when I send the following, I get the following on boot:

Code:

./fastboot flash boot boot.img
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'boot' (10200 KB)...
OKAY [  0.350s]
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.562s

Code:

hab check failed for boot

Thank you

Add cool Omni ascii graphics to your updater-script, the easy way!

Add cool Omni ascii graphics to your updater-script, the easy way!

NOTE: THE FONT CHOICES ON XDA DO NOT PRESENT THE ASCII TEXT PROPERLY. IF YOU COPY AND PASTE THE ASCII TEXT TO NOTEPAD, MOUSEPAD, OR GEDIT, THEY WILL SHOW UP PROPERLY. THESE ASCII GRAPHICS WILL LOOK RIGHT ON YOUR PHONE IF ADDED TO YOUR UPDATER-SCRIPT.

I've noticed that most rom updater scripts (the script that handles installation during TWRP install) usually don't have much by way of appeal. Actually, most of the time, the script is not even informative to what is truly happening on the phone at the moment, but that is a subject for another time.

One of the great things about the updater-script, is you can add notes for it to print on the screen. This would be a useful way to keep people up to date about what is going on. Another way to use this, however, is to add some class to your rom install script by adding some ascii text that resembles a picture.

Now before you get flustered at the thought of trying to draw your own ascii art, keep in mind that there are some really great programs to do that for you. A really simple program for Ubuntu/Debian computers is a program called jp2a.

To get it, use

$sudo apt-get install jp2a

After installing, then you can create your graphics by simple command line options. Find a picture that you want to use, and then ascii it!

$jp2a nameofyourpicture.jpg

The terminal window will convert your picture into ascii text. You may have to play with the window size of your terminal in order to get the correct size of your outputted image. There are a lot of options, which you can see with:

$jp2a --help

I used jp2a on several OmniRom logos to make these examples.
Here are some examples that I added the taglines to, so you can just drop them into your updater-script:

OmniRom

Code:

ui_print("      ':oddddddddddddddddddddddddo;.      ");
ui_print("    ;dkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkd,    ");
ui_print("  .dkkkkkd:;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;:dkkkkko.  ");
ui_print("  dkkkko.                        .dkkkko  ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.                          .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.                          .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.                          .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.  .                  .  .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.  'xl                lx'  .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.  .do. ..';;;;'.. .od.  .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk.  .:kxkkkkkkkkkkkkxk:.  .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk. .lkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkl. .kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkk,lkkkklokkkkkkkkkkkkolkkkkl,kkkkk. ");
ui_print(" .kkkkkkkkkkk[]kkkkkkkkkkkk[]kkkkkkkkkkk. ");
ui_print("  dkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkko  ");
ui_print("  .okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkl.  ");
ui_print("    'okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkko'    ");
ui_print("      .;lllllllllllllllllllllllllll.      ");

OmniRom Inverted

Code:

ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNWMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMKdc;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,;ldKMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMM0c,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,l0MMMM");
ui_print("MMWd,,,,,cx0KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK0xc,,,,;kMMM");
ui_print("MM0,,,,,kWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWx,,,,;0MM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,cWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMc,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMl,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMl,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMWxkWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWkxWMMl,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMMk,dWMMMMNNNNMMMMWd,xMMMl,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMMM0;cdoc:,,,,:codc;0MMMMl,,,,OMM");
ui_print("MMO,,,,lMMXd:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:dXMMl,,,,OMM");

ui_print("MM0,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,;0MM");
ui_print("MMMk;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,;OMMM");
ui_print("MMMMKl,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lKMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMXxc:::::::::::::::::::::::::dXMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");

OmniRom black and white and then inverted

Code:

ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNWMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMM0l.                        'lKMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMO'                              ,OMMMM");
ui_print("MMWl    'oO000000000000000000Oo.    dMMM");
ui_print("MMk    dWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWd    0MM");
ui_print("MMx    'WMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMWddWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWxoWMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMd cWMMMMNNNNMMMMWc oMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMO.'c;..    ..;c'.0MMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMKc.                .cKMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,K:                      ;0,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk          :0:.          .0:          kMM");
ui_print("MMO                                    OMM");
ui_print("MMMd                                  xMMM");
ui_print("MMMM0;                              ;KMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMKo'.........................lXMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");

So, as you can see in this example, here is an updater script that has the ascii art as an image that shows up at the start of loading the rom. You really could put it anywhere.

Code:

show_progress(1.34, 65);
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNWMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMM0l.                        'lKMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMO'                              ,OMMMM");
ui_print("MMWl    'oO000000000000000000Oo.    dMMM");
ui_print("MMk    dWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWd    0MM");
ui_print("MMx    'WMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMWddWMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWxoWMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMd cWMMMMNNNNMMMMWc oMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMMMO.'c;..    ..;c'.0MMMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,MMKc.                .cKMM,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk    ,K:                      ;0,    kMM");
ui_print("MMk          :0:.          .0:          kMM");
ui_print("MMO                                    OMM");
ui_print("MMMd                                  xMMM");
ui_print("MMMM0;                              ;KMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMKo'.........................lXMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
ui_print("Formatting /system");
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system", "0", "/system");
ui_print("Mounting /system");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system", "/system");

ui_print("Unmounting /system");
unmount("/system");
ui_print("Installation complete.");

I'd like to take it one step further: Rather than a progress bar, or along with a progress bar, you could create a line by line fill in picture. Here is an example of an updater-script with this concept:

Code:

ui_print("MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM");
show_progress(1.34, 65);
ui_print("MMMMMMMMMWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNWMMMMMMMMM");
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system", "0", "/system");
ui_print("MMMMMM0l.                        'lKMMMMMM");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system", "/system");
ui_print("MMMMO'                              ,OMMMM");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
ui_print("MMWl    'oO000000000000000000Oo.    dMMM");
symlink("../xbin/su", "/system/bin/su");

So, as it performs the loading actions, it also draws your picture!

Either way, I hope you are inspired to add some flare to your rom updater-script. Adding these little touches to your rom shows others that you are into the details. Enjoy!

Replaced screen but it wont turn on?

Recently i broke half my screen, but it was still working. I figured out i could just replace the screen. So i bought a lcd, screen and digitizer in same. I managed to take all apart carefully, and replace everything. Now when i put the charger in the phone the screen lightning turns on but there is no picture. And the phone connects to the Wi-Fi and starts buzzing so it seems everything "Behind the black screen" is working perfectly. What can the problem be, and could i have broken anything under the replacement that refuses the picture to come on?

Would be superhappy if anyone could respond!

Regards Bendik.

FASTER 6P at Best Buy? Can it really be?

In total, my family of four has four 6Ps.

Yesterday browsing through best buy, I got the golden Nexus 6P in my hands to play with, and gosh, it felt twice as fast and snappier. I proceed to put my phone down and test it app by app at the same time, like the speed test videos on youtube, and I am jealous... it was SOOOOO much faster. I wish I had another phone to record it. Drawer opening was 3 times as fast. Opening the store, google search, brownser, it was close to twice as fast.

Then I proceeded to test the other 6Ps at home... and they were just like mine.

Very intrigued, I thought... well... my phone is full... so let me hard reset it...

Still, not even close to what I experienced at the store. Could it be that these phones at best buy are overcloked or not underclocked? It was a BIG difference!

All my phones were purchased from google... have anyone experienced this?

Thanks!

Upgrading to MM, what do I need?

From day one on my new Op2 I flashed the official MM 3.0 Beta. After a week I decided to try the 2.2.1 Lollipop to see if anything were different... I had to use a kind of downgrade and recovery to downgrade and once that was done everything went fine.

Now I want to try a MM Rom (not the official beta). Can I just flash any MM rom, as long as I have a recovery that supports both Lollipop and Marshmallow (I saw one in the forum) or do I have to do anything else?

Widget with Google Reminder

I'm looking for an app with a customizable calendar widget that shows me the Reminder from Google Calendar and not only the main event. Every app I tried (Chronus, Simple Calendar and many more) only shows tasks I created as event, but if I create a Reminder none of the apps shows it. Only Google Calendar widget shows the Reminder, but is really ugly, I want something minimal or at least a bit customizable. Suggestions? Thanks

How to Root Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900P Stock Marshmallow 6.0.1

Trying to root phone, but can't it done. I've tried a couple variations of SuperSU but one soft bricked the phone and the other won't run, but the phone does boot.

Which recovery should I be running? I got PhilTouch now, should I be using TWRP instead? Or is that just a matter of opinion?

WIFI / Roaming / redirect calls / VPN

Hi,

my goal is to achieve the following: As soon as I get connected to my home WIFI the open VPN connection should be closed and all calls should be redirected to my landline phone. When my mobile phone looses connection to my WIFI for more than 60 seconds the call redirection should end and the open VPN connection should be reestablished. At my home site I've three access points and roaming works perfectly. There should be no action while roaming on my WIFI.

At the moment I've only created a task for the WIFI part. See attachment. But this task does not work very well. The problem is roaming between the access points. It constantly disables and enables the call redirection.

Any suggestions to get this working?

BTW: If there is a way to suppress the pop up which informs about the redirection is enabled or disabled without root is welcome too.

TIA

May Finally Leave Droid Line

Being a Big Turbo fan - I think I moving on to an HTC 10 - Since Google hired them to produce the next Nexus line it is time to leave Moto. Have to tell ya I have 4 Turbo 2's - 2 of them had bad mics and the 4th I believe has bad mics. I think Motos quality control sucks and to get any issues fix is like pulling teeth now. I am just tired of lack of quality of these phones. I have had a refresh and just not totally happy with the Turbo 2 performance.

Adoptable storage question, storage always full

Hi all!
Yesterday I bought my Moto G 2015 (8GB) with a 32GB SD-card. I formatted the SD-card as 'adoptable storage', but after installing some (10+) apps, my internal memory was full. I thought that the adoptable storage was a solution for a full internal memory? Can anybody tell me how this works?
Trust me, I Googled a lot, but no one seemed to have the exact same problem.

I rooted the phone, and can't get Link2SD working.. I'm on 6.0 btw.

Save/lock app in memory

Hi everyone,
Does any body know an, app, script, or any other way to lock a system app on memory?
My issue is with Edge apps panel.
It seems that everytime after unlocking my Galaxy S7 Edge or a minute or more has past from theast time I opened the Edge apps panel, when swiping the edge to open the apps panel, the system reloads all apps in the panel, causing a small lag.
Thank you.

[ROOT][TWRP][Unlock] Chuwi Hibook by kostyamat

Hibook-ToolBox

For first - to write my english is bad, bad, very bad... But I understand english ;)
I allowed myself to write a few batch files to help newcomers, as well as other users, under common title "Hibook-Toolbox".

It allows you to:
Unlock the new tablet Bootloader.
Unprotect system partition from changing (remove "Verity Boot").
Install TWRP-recovery ver-2.8.7.0, which I have ported to this tablet.
Get the correct ROOT in the right way.
Flash custom firmware (which do not have to wait long, I think so)
And other…. I will add if still need to be.

Attention! Whatever you do, you do it at your own risk!

Download (needrom.com): http://ift.tt/1WvtJhU (needrom.com)

Preparation:
Unzip the archive to PC, but try not to use special characters or folder names with space in the paths to files. Better way is unzip to a folder in the root of drive C: or D:
Turn on ADB-debugging: "Settings"-"About Tablet" >-> Taps under the item "build number" until the caption appears "you became a developer"-> Return one step back-> enter the item for developers "-> Enable" USB debugging ".
Connect the device to the PC.
Install the Intel driver IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.10.0.exe

Usage:
1.Unlock_Bootloader.bat - Run first. It will unlock the bootloader. Carefully follow the prescriptions of the script and on the screen of the tablet. ATTENTION! All settings, programs, as well as all data on internal SDCard will be destroyed! Data on external MicroSD and Windows will not suffer. After unlocking the device will reboot in factory recovery, which does not display anything (stupidly black screen with backlight), the process may take up to 10 minutes (I'm shocked, but it's true), then the device will reboot in Android pristine clean.
2.Unlock_Verity-boot.bat - Run second. It will unlocking the System partition to can be changed. Carefully follow the prescriptions of the script and on the screen of the tablet. The device will reboot. Data on external MicroSD and Windows will not suffer. After all unlock actions, be sure to enter the option for developers and turn ON the item "Factory unlock".
3.Outside_boot-TWRP-recovery.bat - (It is optional. For obtain ROOT access). The device will be rebooted into the temporary session of TWRP-recovery, to Internal sdcard will be placed UPDATE-SuperSU.zip - install it using TWRP. Previously, you can make TWRP backup (recommended!).
4.Flash-TWRP-recovery.bat - (It is optional) TWRP-recovery will be permanently flashed into the Tablet. (Not recommended! Some time firmware will update, TWRP cannot install OTA-update)
5.Flash-ORIGINAL-recovery.bat - (It is optional) Flash back to the original Recovery.
ADB_shell.bat - Just a comfortable CMD-window for ADB-debugging and work with Android Shell.
Flash-Custom_FW.bat – My flasher to flash custom firmware, which I am sure will appear in future.

Useful console commands (ADB_shell.bat):
ADB reboot bootloader - reboot to FastbootDroidboot (flashing) mode
ADB reboot recovery - reboot to TWRP or native Recovery mode.
ADB root – restart ADB-debug service as ROOT.
ADB remount - remounting Android system partition to write (you need root-adb mode see adb root)
ADB shell - run Android-console (ash) through which you can run Linux-scripts, internal system commands, etc.
fastboot boot * *.img – run user-compiled boot.img or recovery.img
fastboot reboot – reboot to system from DroidbootFastboot (flashing) mode.
fastboot flash [boot, recovery, system, data] [boot, recovery, system, data]. img - In DroidbootFastboot mode, It will flash specific image to specific partition, example: fastboot flash system c:\Custom_FW\system.img - will flash only system.img to Android system partition.

PS. Under any circumstances, when using TWRP, never do not wipe system partition! Also make sure the TWRP-settings option "Use rm-R instead of formatting" is ON and never leave it. The fact of the matter is that "Verity Boot" marked System partition itself. Withing format the label disappears - the tablet won't boot to Android! This problem can be solved, but why You would make a problem?

If You like may work, buy me a coffee. Please :|

sm-t350 wife not working

Hi! I have a Samsung tab a 8.0 sm-t350. I recently installed a modified stock ROM (HTKO STOCK+ 1.2). I was able to flash TWRP(with no app image?) via Odin and then installed TWRP with google play then I flashed this ROM via recovery. After flashing, wifi is broken. I can not boot to recovery because the TWRP app (image) was wiped and can no longer install it via google play. Is there any work-around for this problem? Oh, and also, I have no file folder! Not too sure where it went. Thanks in advance.

Fire Stick and VPN

Is there any way to set up a VPN on the Fire Stick without root? Running 5.0.5 (with updates blocked), patiently (ok, not that patiently) waited for a recovery & rooted image for the Stick. I primarily use my Stick with Kodi, but I decided to hold off until I can get it behind a VPN (I use IPVanish with my other devices)? I know I can root with KingRoot, but if it's going to make Kodi crash after X amount of minutes, then what's the point?

How to Root LG G5 and Install Latest TWRP Recovery - European Edition

TeamWin now officially supports the newly announced LG G5 and you can install the Latest TWRP custom recovery on it easily with this detailed tutorial. TeamWin recently gave there phenomenal custom recovery a major revamp. The new additions included a totally new design philosophy with new color schemes inspired by Material Design, newer code based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a lot of bug fixes. It is absolutely amazing seeing the developer community put out support for new phones this quickly.

You can follow this guide to unlock the bootloader of your LG G5. If you have successfully unlocked the bootloader of your LG G5, you should be waiting for a method to root your device. Here is a step by step guide to Install TWRP and Root your LG G5.

NOTE: This TWRP Recovery is Only for LG G5 H850 Europian Models. Please don't try this with any other LG G5 variant.

Step-by-Step Instructions :

Step 1 : Download Android SDK from the official Android Developers website and install it in your computer.

All Download Links I have Posted here : Download Now

Step 2 : Download the Latest SuperSU Zip file and paste into your phone internal storage (not in any folder) in order to root your LG G5.

Step 3 : Download Latest TWRP Recovery to your computer and rename it to 'twrp' and save it in your desktop by making a folder. (Folder name should be LGG5 for this tutorial)

Windows users will need proper drivers installed on your computer. You can try the Naked ADB drivers or the Universal ADB drivers if you don't already have a working driver installed

Step 4 : On your device, go into Settings -> About and find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable developer settings. Press back and go into Developer Options and enable USB debugging.

Step 5 : Connect your LG G5 to your computer using a USB cable and from your computer, open a command prompt and type:
adb reboot bootloader

You should now be in fastboot mode. Download the correct image file from the above link and save it in your desktop by making a folder. (Folder name should be LGG5 for this tutorial)

Step 6 : Open the Folder from your Desktop now where you have TWRP Image file and on Windows: Open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt). For Mac OS X and Linux, use Terminal to navigate to this directory.

Step 7 : Type in the following command and press Enter :

fastboot flash recovery ./Desktop/LGG5/twrp.img

Step 8 : When finished, again type the following command and press Enter :
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Step 9 : Once completed, switch off your phone by pressing power button for 10 second. After that, Press and hold Volume down button and the Power button simultaneously. You will see the LG logo on the screen. Let go of the power button then quickly and press it again (never letting go of volume down).

Keep holding until you see the Factory Reset screen. Click through the factory reset screens, clicking Yes.

That's it! You should now be in the Latest TWRP Recovery on LG G5 from where you can choose whatever function you want to perform.

How to Install SuperSU zip to Root LG G5 :

Step 10 : Once you are in TWRP home, select 'Install' button. From the list, choose the SuperSU Zip file that you copied to your phone memory in Step 2.

Step 11 : Confirm installation on the next screen by swiping on the "Swipe to Confirm Flash" option. The installation procedure should start now.

Step 12 : Tap on the "Wipe cache/dalvik" button if you get into any boot loops or other issues.

Step 13 : You can now reboot your phone by selecting the "Reboot System" button.

Hurrah! Your LG G5 is now Rooted and TWRP Installed. Check with any root checker app to verify your rooting status.
