new to the shield, not to rooting but need help

OK, so hey guys and girls, I have the nexus 6p and have excellent experience with rooting android....I have actually built my first google stock ROM for nexus 6(shamu) and work on other teams for beta testing etc. In saying all that, I have not strayed away from moto, google, or Sammy software. I am buying a nvidia shield from swappa, but atliitle confused. Is their only 1 nvidia shield tablet? If not, which ROMs are compatible with k1 variant?

Unable to replace "ding" sound from FB Messenger app on Samsung S7 Edge

I apologize if this is not the correct forum/thread to post this . . .

I am trying to change the "ding" sound that FB Messenger plays everything a new message arrives but I haven't had any success. I have changed both the Notification Sound and Ringtone sound but it seems that these sounds are separate from where the "ding" notification from and I can't find the location where to change it. The smartphone is not rooted. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Brick by editting build.prop

i tried to unlock a pincode that i had in the phone by editting the buld.prop...
finally i bricked the phone and now i only can turn onhe phone on fastboot/hboot or CWM.
I tried to install custom rom, and stock rom but still bricked. i dont know how to install a boot.img (because my pc doesnt recognice the phone in fastboot)
if someone has a backup or something maybe will help, other ideas are acepted :confused:

Signature verification failed - Samsung Tab 4 - SM-T230NU

Hello,

Issue:
I receive a "Footer is wrong and Signature Verification failed" error when installing a Cross Compiled kernel through "adb sidechannel"

Question/help:
How do I properly install the newly cross compiled kernel on my rooted Samsung Tab 4 - SM-T230NU. I am stuck at this point. A step by step guide is GREATLY appreciated.

What I have done so far:
1. Downloaded what I hope is the right kernel from opensource.samsung.com
2. Cross compiled the kernel using toolchains recommended in the README file. I Cross Compiled on an Ubuntu system
3. I then downloaded AnyKernel and placed the zImage and a wifi kernel module in the appropriate location in the AnyKernel.zip file using "Archive Manager"
4. I received my error after I uploaded the AnyKernel.zip using adb sidechannel. Error was "Footer is wrong and Signature Verification failed"

Steps I have taken to troubleshoot or workaround thus far:
1. Install ClockWorkMod Recovery from the PlayStore but it does not support my tablet.
2. Reinstall AnyKernel and try again but it fails
3. tried AnyKernel2 but that fails as well.
4. Some tutorials teach the manual way (without Anykernel) but they all instruct one to get the boot.img. I could not locate the boot.img file so I got stuck.

Can you please provide some guidance?

[Q] SM G900V Verizon S5 upgrade to 6.0.1 and keep root

I have a root Verizon S5 running 5.0 stock. I would like to upgrade to the new 6.0.1 and keep root. I've tried searching with no real success. Can I upgrade to 6.0.1 and keep root?

fyi - I disabled OTA updates, I think I froze or renamed the process.

If I can't use the stock ROM and have root, is there a 6.0.1 ROM the collective would recommend?

Can't install TWRP after installing a new board.

Hi everyone, just trying to install TWRP on my T999 S3. I had it installed before but after my mic died, I ordered a OEM motherboard and installed it. It's currently on 4.1.2, however everytime I try to install TWRP will any of the versions of Odin, it either takes forever to copy over or quickly does it.
What I get in my log in Odin

What happens is the phone reboots but instead of booting into TWRP like it should, it reboots into the software itself. If I let Odin sit it will then show this

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)

However when I shut the phone down and try to boot into TWRP to install CM13, it just boots into the stock recovery :confused:. Any help would be great! Please note, yes i have tried 5 different usbs, all the ports on my pc, and it still does it. Thank you!

Water Resistant?

Whats the deal here, had an issue and called tech support, looked like an RMA and one of the steps was to verify the water sticker inside the sim slot didn't get wet and the pattern of small x's was still pink and visible. Mine was but I had been tempted to stick it in the sink for fun but now no way. Doesn't this seem odd?

Xperia m2 dual charging problem please help

When I connect my phone to the charger it doesn't charge I can hear the sound of the charging and it charges for seconds then I can't see the charging sign or the red lamb I tried to power it off and connected it again but the same I managed to charge it but when I tought the phone the charging stopped.

LG Magna LTE (H520G): booting into recovery mode causes factory reset

Hello, community!

I've successfully rooted my LG Magna LTE (H520G) using Kingroot and then replacing it with SuperSU via @Mr.W0lf's script.

I wanted to install the Xposed framework, so I booted into recovery mode, using Power+VolDown, as usual in LG devices, but instead of going into the recovery menu, the Android with the spinning polygons popped up, and then the phone rebooted into a factory-reset state, having to download and configure everything from scratch again.

Did I miss a step here, or does the rooting method change the recovery-boot shortcut in some way?

Stuck in a bootloop, please help

So I had my phone with TWRP and rooted, but then I upgraded to the latest firmware using Smart Switch on my PC.

Without doing any research I then stupidly flashed TWRP to my phone thinking I would just re-root it using TWRP and flashing the latest SUPERSU file; however, now TWRP doesn't recognize my internal storage and it is stuck in a boot loop unless I can flash SUPERSU or DT Verity fix. The internal storage is not recognized by my computer either when I plug my phone on even if I enable MTP in TWRP, I think this is something to do with the last USB debugging options but I am not sure?

What is my best solution without wiping my data?

If I copy the files to an SD card will TWRP recognize them? I am guessing no?

Can I flash stock back over TWRP to save my data? If so I am on Wind Mobile Canada, what file should I be flashing?

Lastly, I believe there is someway to send the files over ADP but I can't find any straight forward instructions on how to do so.

Changing motherboard helped?

Guys i have a rather silly question to all the g4users who got their mobo replaced. Did u see any increase in terms of Performance with the new mobo because my g4 has sn506 so.its sth like an 10 months old and icleanly installed v20d latest version available on it and i have constant overheating and throttling while light usage so my question is did the mobo replacement fixed overheating issues with v20d or is it just software related? (And yeah i know that i can flash newer software but this is not the question ;) )

And yeah still no bootloop on my g4 :D

Solution: Enable Breathlight Notifications for Third Party Apps

i was really annoyed by not having a Status LED on this phone and digged into this. First i tried Setting the Battery level to something below 15 to make the Breathlight come on but as soon as a system Battery update was triggered the Light went off ... Next: Created a App to send a fake SMS to my phone (triggering the SMS_RECEIVED intend) - failed to get it running, needs to be a prviliged system app (priv-app), gave up on this ... looked into the sys interface ... and tadaaa:

Front camera crashing in Nexus 7 (2013) on DU

N9108V - Note 4 for China Mobile version. 3G and LTE not working in Europe (Greece)

Hello everyone,

A Note 4 N9108V end up to my hands, but after using it i realised it cannot properly operate in my network.
It is a snapdragon variant, single-sim version for China Mobile, has lot of Chinese stuff totally useless if you are outside China and does not have Google apps also.
I manage to root the device, install custom CWM recovery, install a MIUI7 ROM that is quite good, install Google but still have problem with 3G coverage (and LTE ofcourse since in China LTE is different than EU)
I have 3G coverage, but if i will move to another location i will not be able to make calls, and i will also appear as unreachable if someone is calling me. Also data connection will not work. Later, it may work correctly for a while.
In GSM mode is working perfectly

I took it to a local repair center to check for hardware problem, they say that it is probably the baseband (modem) software that is designed specific for the China Mobile network, or there is a bug.
I tried all the available official ROMs and modems for this device (4.4.4, 5.0.1, 5.1.1) but nothing improved.
The only thing i manage to do is to have this amazing phone working only in GSM mode....
It is like having a Ferrari with pedals. :(

I am thinking if it is somehow possible to load the modem file for the EU model (N910F), and this may "unlock" the needed frequencies to operate correctly. Or even, if it possible to load the entire N910F or similar non-branded Note 4 formware to the phone, since i suppose the hardware is the same.
I tried to load this modem file and the n910F firmware with Odin but is not accepted, the procedure failed.

Any ideas, proposals etc?? (except of hammering the device, this will be my last option) :laugh:

Which version of Lollipop for H06L04 is the latest/best?

I just managed to downgrade back to LP H60-L04C151B507. Is this the latest? I couldnt find this info because some MM update for the Indian region worked on my European variant, so when I see a Firmware for a different region (like Russia) Im not sure if its supported... too paranoid to try

Is this the best LP firware available? I was very displeased with the MM beta so I want the best possible LP build :)

I am not a phone expert by any means. I am probably in the 'knows just enough to be dangerous category,' but I am quite willing to learn. Here is my situation as I understand it. Please advise whether my premise is flawed.

Phone: rooted Verizon Note 3 KitKat NC4 off contract / pre-paid , no warranty

Ultimate Goal: to wipe my phone and have a clean slate. Bonus if I could be able to backup images of my phone for the future. Heheeeee.

Sitrep: phone is in need of a wipe/do-over to resolve some minor annoyances, but factory reset doesn't work. It says "System software not authorized by Verizon detected...please shove it," or something. That is curious, because, since I am trying to get rid of allllllllll the software, it should just let me do it if it doesn't like some of the software. I probably don't understand this fully. (Or else they just want me to go to Verizon so they can sell me a new/worse/more despotic phone.)

I only get that message if i try to reset it, not every time i turn it on, so it doesnt bother me, but i do want to reset it, because it is full of cobwebs and battery issues. From reading this forum, I think the reason it won't reset is that about a year ago, I installed clockwork and did *something* to the recovery, but it freaked out, because my boot loader wasn't (and still isn't) unlocked, so I uninstalled clockwork. I don't remember why I installed it. It was too long ago. I think i thought i could back up my rom or something. Anyway, it has worked fine ever since, I just can't wipe it and it tells me about unauthorized software. I found instructions on here about 'flashing back to stock kitkat with Odin,' which I gather will fix my recovery, and as long as I don't do that clockwork recovery thing again, I can reset it whenever I want to, on KitKat. (I am not interested in "upgrading.") I was all set to do that, when, last night, to my joy, I saw the Verizon note 3 boot loader unlock has arrived. That (I think) means that I can (eventually) unlock the boot loader and go back to jelly bean. Yay! Or cyanogen!! Yayay!

Question: shall I first reflash KitKat in Odin, so that the recovery is operational, THEN unlock it? Or can I unlock it first, even if the recovery is messed up, skip fixing KitKat, and go back to jelly bean (or maybe cyanogen)? I am afraid that there is a right order and a wrong order, and I'm sure to pick the wrong one.

Maybe these 2 things have nothing to do with each other. I have no idea. I just feel like I might be at a crossroad.

[TIP] Restore boomsound personal audio profile

If you want to backup and restore your personal audio profile from boomsound, its located in /data/data/com.htc.htcadaptivesound/files/profiles

Just back up file inside that folder, switch roms, make a new profile in settings, and use a file manager to replace the newly created profile with your backup. Set permissions and reboot and it works ;)

Bricked Mate 7 (MT7-TL10)!

Hello guys,
How are you all ?,

I've got an bricked MT7-TL10 from a friend,
Phone stuck at Huawei logo only,
Bootloader is "Unlocked", but it won't let me flash anything,
Always get "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)",
Phone can't enter SD update mode so i can flash it by SD,
I've tried to unpack UPDATE.APP file from alot of firmware KK, LP and MM,
But phone won't accept flashing via fastboot at all,
So, what's next?, what can i do to unbrick this phone?,

App permissions keep resetting

Had a look in the Q&A forum and bugs thread but didn't find anyone mentioning this issue:

I have to grant permissions to my apps over and over again for some strange reason. Running MM 32.1.A.1.185 on E6653.
I have to re-grant permissions to my apps like once a week. Already granted Whatsapp permission to use camera/microphone a couple of times already as an example. I may try a factory reset if I can't find a solution in the next week

[Q] How can I stop the screen turning on while calling from handsfree?

I'm on the latest CM12.1 nighlies (yes CM are still building for Togari, about once every week now), although this has been happening for a long time, but I've only just visually proven it.

I keep my XZU in my front pocket of my slacks (screen facing my thigh so that any knock that might damage the glass only damages the rear). and use my car's built in voice activated hands-free to initiate calls. The trouble is:

When the call is connected, the screen comes on straight to the phone screen (proximity sensor doesn't recognize that the phone is in my pocket (and close to skin), which with the slightest movement, registers a touch of my thigh and hangs up the call.

(Aside from installing one of the latest MM roms with their proximity sensor issue) How can I prevent the screen turning on when making a call via hands free?

Error Message "Unfurtunately, System UI has stopped"

So I was messing around with the developer settings and turned on "Force RTL layout direction". This caused my phone to crash and for the error message to pop up "Unfortunately, system UI has stopped". I have tried rebooting multiple times and clearing the cache as some suggested but this doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if there are any other options instead of a factory reboot and if not, can I backup my phone from the recovery mode or using a USB connected to my laptop. Thanks!

I've been trying to print with usb cable, from SGS3 and from current nexus (using otg cable), plugins installed, nothing is being printed, so, is it possible to print from phone by the cable? I do not have wireless printer, so that would be the only way to print from it

Nexus won't turn on after screen replacement

I recently replaced the screen on my nexus (again) and after following all the instruction from a tutorial video, I was dismayed to see it would no longer power on. I don't believe any of the ribbon cables were affected as I was gentle, but can't be sure. The most possible cable affected would be the power/volume cable because I had to transfer that from one bezel to the other. Any suggestions?

Phone is LS970 but reads as LGE971

I just found this phone again and I'm trying to use it as a dash cam, but on CM12 I never got the GPS to work. I'm trying to flash back to stock using this tutorial, http://ift.tt/1eOn48J, but LGFLASHTOOL always says my phone is a LGE971 and it fails to flash. How could this be happening and what can I do to fix it? Thank you in advance.

Unofficial method unlock bootloader then flash Developer ROM will still unlock BL?

I wonder at this stage, which is better? Stable ROM or Developer ROM? I want a fully root access to my phone. Install TWRP. That's it.

I read somewhere that Developer ROM is bootloader locked, while only Stable ROM is the only that can be bootloader unlocked.

Is thre a root method for LG D852 Marshmallow?

I just cant seem to find anything for rooting marshmallow. I have tried stumproot, purple drake, king root....nothing works. King root roots fine the first try but upon reboot root is gone again.

Anyone know of a root method for LG D852 Marshmallow v30b? Im new to the G3 and dont know the methods!

Moto G3: Hardware Composer Disabled?

I just discovered that my Moto G 3rd Gen has the HWC disabled. I am using a 5.1.1 osprey ROM, but I tested on a oficial OTA 6.0 (never moded phone) and I found the same result.

Basically, all the surface layers were being composed with GLES (GPU) no matter how many, or what properties.

I finally found out that Motorola did not enable MDP (The HWC of Qualcomm) in their ROMs. I fixed by (you need root):

Any reason for that? Is that the case for older MotoGs? I personally find my phone quite smoother and faster now. And in theory should use less battery. Why is it disable?

Can anybody confirm if this helps you? Or if it is disabled?
You can check if it is disabled by doing:

How can I access my phone?

Hi all so I recently found my old Galaxy Grand Prime and I can't remember the backup pin or email I had with that phone :( . When I connect it to my computer a message on the phone appears telling me to unlock before I can access it on my computer so is there a way for me to break into my old phone besides factory resetting it because I do have some old pictures on there I would like to see. Google dialar for MM no root needed

The member Kolda_CZ was able to get the Google Dialer working on S6 without root permission, I tested it on my LG G3(d855) and so far it's working great!

Xposed SQLite

Hello,
I need some help with xposed and access sqlite database. My problem is i can't access database when i instantiate my DatabaseHelper in classes which are not Activities. The error is only the same nullPointerException in SQL. The problem is because context.
I'm doing that in my main class of xposed (where i implement IXposedHookLoadPackage).

My goal is to get all aplications package name that are saved in database. Any one can give me some help?

Camera and gyroscopic problem

Hi, guys.

I'm with two problems on my 6P:
1. Camera don't work. When I open the cam app, I get a black screen with the camera icon. And that's it.
2. Basically, the device don't rotate.

I already try flash a new rom, new kernel, new vendor... But notthing help me.

Any tips?

Is a custom ROM likely to make a significant difference in battery life?

I have a Note 4 running stock Samsung ROM (6.0.1) that I just got and the battery life is beyond bad. I'm old (hold on a sec...some kids are on my lawn), not quite demented but fairly tech savvy. I don't do games, facebook, snapchat, instagram, etc. I seldom use the device even for calls. Just a light load of email, browser and some light low-def video and audio usage. All non-essential processes are killed except Greenify. Despite those key factors, ninety minutes in and I've chewed through 60-70% of charge. 90 MINUTES! I'm but a gentle user and I can't imagine what a more average user must be faced with. Bought a new battery...same results. Boot to safe mode and no noticeable difference.

The warranty will be up in 30 days. So I do have option of sending it off to Samsung and being dead in the water for a couple of weeks (not ideal).

Does anyone suspect that a software re-flash will accomplish anything? Not looking forward to having to go through the setup process again, but...

After the warranty period is over, I would happily try a different ROM if anybody can explain how it might make a noticeable/significant difference. If so, what ROM should I consider? I would even be willing to revert to an older OS. Again, what version should I consider?

Other considerations?

Batt cal issues after stock Rom install

Flashed official htc 5.18 ruu onto one x Evita. No issues during flash. Phone operates normal, as far as I can tell, except battery life/stats. Done extensive reading on resetting battery stats, but for some reason, I am unable to perform any of them. I boot into fastboot, then recovery, and wait for the red triangle, only it never comes. Selecting recovery brings htc white screen, then the black screen with image of phone in download mode (phone with green circle), and half a minute later phone reboots. Holding volume up and pressing power with green circle doesn't work.
I also tried holding vol up and down together and holding power button. Held that for nearly five minutes. Phone did nothing. Did have it plugged in using the htc charger that came with phone.
Currently doing the drain and charge while off method. 4 hours and no green light yet.
While phone was on, it showed 99% charge continuously, and would flash dead battery red, shut down after using.
I have reflashed the ruu twice, same results. I'm assuming I need to access the recovery menu to wipe the cache, but again, for some reason it's not letting me. Or, am I doing it wrong???

bricked S5 Sport

My S5 Sport has bricked. when it boots after the last update it just says "set warrenty bit : kernal" and reboots. I can reboot into Odin Mode (sound down. power and home) and Boot Recovery Mode. (sound up. power and home). and CWM recovery. I've tried using odin to reflash stock but it fails every time. the blue bar just starts to move then stops. I'm at a dead stop here. I need the phone but the budget just is going to break if I have to buy a new phone. any ideas?
I have the G860PVPU1ANG3_G860PSPT1ANG3_G860PVPU1ANG3_HOME.tar .md5 file to reflash back to Stock.

Screen keeps shutting off randomly

Hey there,

I need help! I'm traveling and my screen earlier today started randomly shutting off on me. Then, even when I double tap it, the screen won't turn on. The buttons on the bottom will still work, so I can't tell if this is a software issue or if the LCD screen is failing. The screen will occasionally turn on when I pull the battery and start it up, but it doesn't stay on for long.

I recently flashed the Azadi Marshmallow stock ROM...could the be an issue. I'm afraid to do any flashing while I'm on the road since I think I can atleast turn on the mobile hot spot feature when the screen does decide to actually work.

Should I flash to the stock software?? I was going to use this step by step: http://ift.tt/1U1O49V , but I'm afraid to flash since I may not be able to screen if it is indeed a hardware issue and not a messed up software file or something...help!

Every (film) screen protector causes distortion on finger smudges?

I have tried three film (TPU) screen protectors so far: the IQShield, Zagg HD Dry, and theCoos one. Every single one appears nice and perfect and clear when the screen is off, or when it's on and I'm looking at a dark-to-medium background. However, when on a white background, any finger smudges I leave create a distortion on that smudge, like a little oil slick. Wiping them off makes it go away. The thing is, the naked screen doesn't do that. Yes, it collects smudges like hell, but they are visible only when the screen is off. When on, even over a light background, I see no distortion caused by my finger oils.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this specific effect. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it and knows what the he'll I'm talking about, or if I'm the only one OCD enough to notice. I'm also wondering why it happens-- is it a TPU thing? Will PET film behave differently? (I'm guessing tempered glass obviously would.) This has been driving me crazy - I wipe the screen clean every 3 seconds while in use and I'm growing ever more tempted to just tear the damn screen protector off and take my chances. :crying:

SELinux to Permissive?

Hi!!
I am running StockROM with some little tweaks made by me like doedex and zipalign, some visual chances, but nothing too hard. To have the best battery life possible I installed @sev3n1985 kernel. Everything perfect!!
I was surfing on the web and I discovered that permissive SELinux lets us do a lot more stuff than with the SELinux mode on Enforcing.
Is this truth? If so, is there any way I can change it?

Does Android Auto cache data for Google Maps?

So I'm planning to take a trip up north to Yosemite soon and T-Mobile doesn't have coverage in that area so I'll have to download an offline GPS app prior to the trip.

I tried using AA with the data turned off on my GS5 and Google Maps on AA was still able to track my location and I was able to lookup addresses I've already been to in the past. So now I'm wondering if AA is using the cached data from the vehicle or from my GS5. Would anybody be able to shed some light on this?

Does the 10 support DLNA?

I just ordered an HTC 10 last night from T-Mobile but I don't see mention of DLNA support anywhere and Verizon's page for DLNA on the 10 says it's not supported. This is a feature I use a LOT, can someone confirm if BubbleUPnP works? I don't care if it doesn't have native support but if Bubble doesn't work, I'm going to have to seriously think about whether I'm willing to give that feature up.

Can H811 Bootloader Be Re-Locked?

I'm stuck and confused:

• Had a Nexus 4 and 5 for years. Decided to upgrade this past November to the LG G4 (T-Mobile H811)
• Got it to root without touching the boot loader.
• In came MM and then I had issues of repeating the process.
• I came across a solution, to unlock my bootloader. So I did it and managed to get my G4 rooted while running stock LG MM (H81120i).
• Everything was running well for several months, but then I started to see erratic behavior. It would heat-up in my pocket for no reason. It would not save pictures. Connections via WiFi and LTE were breaking up. All in all, I wasn't happy and I missed the stock Google interface.
• So I've decided to install CM13. Had many issues of getting it to work for several days, which included persistent closings of Google Play services (and many others) and not being able to make/receive calls (it would automatically reboot) After several different attempts, I managed to get it all working. Cleared/Wiped everything off my internal drive, installed the "LG-H81120i-Flashable.COMPLETE" and "cm-13.0-201605xx-NIGHTLY-h811" and "open_gapps-arm64-6.0-nano-201605xx", all back to back. And then installed manual everything as needed Gmail, Maps, etc.
• Everything worked great for about 2-days, until then next morning my screen locked up. Then the phone rebooted. After the reboot, it lasted for about 10-15 seconds in CM13 and rebooted again manually. Continued to reboot over and over, till it then stopped booting with CM13. I thought that maybe I needed to install the latest CM13 zip file, but found I couldn't get into recovery. The first reboot screen, showing "Bootloader State: Bootloader unlocked? and the LG logo would be in a loop. During that time, I could feel the phone getting hotter and hotter.
• Sometimes, the phone would boot up into CM fully and last for 5 to 10 minutes. Then reboot again and stay in the first reboot screen.
• I managed to get into TWRP recovery and thought that putting back the stock MRA58K image would help. During the install in recovery, the phone rebooted! I never thought it could do that. Eventually I got the stock LG back-up up and running, but it didn't help, and same rebooting occurred.

I'm stuck and out of options. I would like to get the phone BACK TO STOCK and then perform an RMA. I'm afraid that with the BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED that my RMA will be denied and I'm stuck with what I have.

So can the H811's bootloader be re-locked?

Upgrade path from B123

I'm running a P7 with the firmware it shipped with and I'd really like to get it up to date, but every package I've tried so far has failed during package verification. There seems to be very little info on how to update your phone from such an old build. Can anyone please help because I'm at my wit's end here. I have a limited date cap so can't just keep downloading updates in the hopes that one of them will work.

I would be greatly indebted to anyone who could help me. This issue is making me want to cry. :(

RGB Color Slider Tutorial for Tasker + KLWP | KWGT | ... Zooper Widget?

I've been looking for a way to adjust a global "accent color" that I've created with KLWP and KWGT.
I couldn't find anything... So, I found a way to do it myself.

This is for those who are familiar with Tasker and KLWP...
There may also be a better way to do this.

Getting Rid of Lollipop

Hi all. I used to be somewhat tech savvy (I built computers, overclocked them, knew a bit of unix, even got MAC OS running on a PC when they made the change to intel) but it's been ages since I really delved into any tech. So bear with me, the world of android is all new to me.

I have a XT1056, otherwise a Sprint Moto X 1st Gen. Sprint has long been dropped as a carrier and I use the phone more so as a computer/multimedia device.

I held off on updating to Lollipop but finally gave in. The major changes since switching has been :
1. Battery drains twice as fast
2. Overall slowdown
and the biggest one
3. MAJOR WiFi problems. I cannot connect to WiFi networks I previously could. Well I can connect they just don't work except for the first 30 seconds when I actually connect to the network. Even though I'm getting a strong signal it refuses to actually do anything on the network.

A factory reset didn't help.

I want to downgrade back to kitkat or even jellybean.

So far I have followed a guide that says to use RSD. I have the firmware (or ROM, What's the difference ?) for kitkat and lellybean. I've installed the Android SDK and Motorola USB Drivers.
However the flash always fails returning me :

RSD sees the phone just fine.

I even went ahead and got the unlock code and have unlocked the bootloader. It says "Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code 3" (status code 3 ??)

Really I'm now at a loss, with lollipop my phone is basically a brick. All I want is to be able to return to KitKat or Jellybean. I've read multiple guides (like using ODIN ?) but I really don't know what I should do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just want my phone back to being able to pick up WiFi and I'm not opposed to running custom ROMS either.

My LG V10 with ebony toastmade skin

I had an Ebony Skin with Custom Inlay of my company's logo made fro my V10. I like the look of the wood with the steel sidebars so I left those unwrapped and I trimmed the top and bottom pieces so they wouldn't wrap on the steel either. I wish the back piece and the top and bottom were better able to hide the plastic, but overall I'm very pleased with this.

Verizon note edge extremely laggy,slow, overheats like a b*tch

Am at the point of just throwing it in a dumpster, I've had so many problems. The gaming performance is more awful than my note 3, it overheats even when I have no apps running, the battery dies super fast...what the heck is wrong with my phone ? I've had zero luck with it...tried restoring and no difference was made. Running Android 5.0.1

Mouse Connected using OTG Adapter but not showing pointer

Hi,
I have a OTG/MHL adapter which has 2 USB ports and 1 HDMI port along with other SD/MMC etc. The phone is displaying fine on TV.

However I have a broken screen/digitizer. This is the reason for creating the thread.

When I connect my wired mouse into any of the USB ports, it displays Mouse connected (connected to HDMI through to TV) but there is no pointer and no movement. RED LED is lit under Mouse to show power is drawn.

I have a LG G3 phone but unfortunately trying to connect to it doesn't work however I have another USB OTG Cable but it's only 1 connection. Micro USB to USB. IF I connect that to my LG phone along with my wired mouse then I see the pointer and I can control my phone. No issues.

My Broken phone android version is 4.4.x
The mouse is a new mouse but one of the cheap one from eBay. Bottom of the Mouse the Rating is 5V --- 100Ma
The OTG Adapter is another cheap one but it's always worked for me without any issues. However MAYBE, just maybe the reason it doesn't work is because the power input or DC is also 5V. Does that mean the mouse is taking all the power?

What I'm trying to achieve -
Enable WIFI so then I can remote control the device etc. I use the Broken phone for KODI.

Can I use any ADB commands to make it work? I don't have it rooted I don't think but I can start the phone in Recovery mode.

Any advice will help,

Manufacturing Issues

Hi friends. New to XDA. I already went through the color-uniformity threads. Even though my thread is related to that what I want to talk about isn't the same.

Unfortunately as bunch of Galaxy S7 users have I'm also having the color-uniformity issue. This is my 2nd device after replacement actually. 1st had much worse screen. I compared mine with my father's and my couple of friend's S7 of same model. I understood that my mind wasn't making up the issue but one of my friend have the same issue but in different parts of the display.

The interesting fact that I found out was that his and mine(1st & 2nd devices) is manufactured at March 2016 while my father's and other friend's was at February 2016 based on Samsung's device serial number. So I guess only the units manufactured sometime in March(or later) are having this issue. Even if I do one more replacement which is possible through Samsung service center only as of now I won't mostly likely get a unit manufactured at February or April and also there is no way to check the serial number without opening the box I guess.

It would be helpful if anyone knows whether there is a way to check the serial number without opening the box OR ask the personnel at service center to get me one manufactured at February or April. Will they have serial number information in their system for doing that?

New Verizon HTC 10 Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting

Just like the title says. I'm on the newest firmware which supposedly has camera and Wi-Fi bug fixes. But I am connected to my Wi-Fi, excellent connection, and like every 5 minutes I am getting Wi-Fi disconnected toast messages. It's infuriating since I've had this all of 1 hour.

Any simple fixes I'm missing. My Wi-Fi settings don't seem to be messing with this (on the phone side) set to always stay on.

Can I flash system.img from nexus factory images via TWRP?

I am on latest build of DU with Ex kernal. If I want to switch to stock why cant I just flash system.img from factory images(same build). Will it cause any problem?(Ofcourse after wiping all).
Even if I want to upgrade to say June build as stock, Can I flash all(system, vendor)?

Note 4 External or Internal Antenna / Signal Boosting

Hy Guys!

Problem:
I m working in a factory, where there all many places with low signal strength.
Also sometimes i m getting low signal strength at my home, or outside.
Other phones with my simcard don't have that problem, already tested with a Samsung S2 and a Nokia E90.
Phone was in serviece because often i was get zero signal strength and many missed calls at "normal" places.
My zero signal strength was fixed by the serviece.

Solution(?):
After a little search i was found out, there are two plus Antenna connector at my Note 4 (N910C).

Notifications Auto Opening?

Hey! So I am encountering this very annoying notification issue. Basically I get a notification, for example an email, I decide I don't want to read it l, so I swipe it away. Then all of a sudden my phone decides no, I want you to read that email and opens the notification anyway. This happens randomly as well making it even more annoying. Any idea what could be causing this?

Help!! Bypassing the Reactivation Lock Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (cricket model)

Hello everybody, i ran into a bit, well not a bit, a BUNCH of trouble when resetting this phone my friend sold to me. To be more specific, its the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530-AZ (Cricket).

You guys are probably wondering how in the hell did I manage to reset the device if it kept asking me to give up the Samsung account password in the Backup and Reset screen in the settings menu? Well, lets put it this way, my friend was being an ass so he never gave me the password SO I had to reset it manually. How? Well I first "thought ahead" and I was like "Hmm, if i reset it via the Recovery Menu, its gonna ****in beg me for his google account's password. So, why don't I just wait till I get home and reset the damn thing via odin?" I thought I had it IN THE BAG but unfortunatley, I WAS WRONG. When it finished resetting via the odin method, i went into the setup like normal, adding my own google account, blah blah blah, thinking it would be soon up and running BUT i ran into this crappy 'Samsung Account' screen and its basically stating that 'This device is locked because of an abnormal factory reset. Sign in to the account that you have already signed in to on this device to confirm that it belongs to you.' I totally forgot ALL about the Samsung account AND I didn't know that samsung had a trick up their sleeves JUST LIKE APPLE'S ICLOUD LOCK!!! SO now I am STUCK.

I have tried ALL the possible ways to bypass this screen, like the copy and search method that brings up the internet app, the accessibility method BUT my phone doesn't have that button, and all the other methods with NO LUCK. I don't know how to bypass THIS particular screen and thats why I've come to you guys to come help me out with this. Please, anyone help?

Videos taking to long to play.....

Is anyone else experiencing videos suck as instagram videos or YouTube videos taking for ever to play? When try to watch it from my other phone which is an iPhone the videos play just fine and immediatly.

Bootlooped Phone

I recently got a Motorola Moto X 2nd gen(kind of an old phone). I've been experimenting with bootloader and rooting my device. Being the idiot that I am, I decided to reboot my device for no reason. I got a boot loop and have tried factory resetting which did not work. I'm kind of desperate at this point.

Google Voice?

i just switched to AT&T and have been using GV for years on Sprint. Like to know if the issues are m10 GV or AT&T.

its not letting me change my carrier voicemail or forwarding number.

i am on viper rom right now but i tried it on Ice and leedroid also.

any ideas on a fix?

T999 Galaxy S3 Hard-Bricked (All current online links broken)

Hi. My name's Joe. I've got a galaxy s3 and I was playing with some custom OS' and ended up hard bricking it. Not worth sending out to get it fixed, but I came across some info on using debrick images. There was one of them for each of the models. However on May 1st "copy.com" went offline permanently and it seems all the images were stored there and I haven't been able to locate any of them elsewhere.

Does anyone have residual copies of these images that could be posted somewhere, emailed, or shared through something like Google Drive?

Ported rom issues

I'm using a cyanogen mod 13 port, to my MT6582 phone LG MAGNA, and the camera of this rom is green and frontal camera doen't seems to be recognized... After some porting tasks, like changing libs and all. I make the phone recognize my frontal camera... Icons to switch between the cameras appeared into the apps like instagram and openCamera, but now the camera doesn't seems to inicializate because of a error at the library from the AOSP that I used to do the fix on the libs. The AOSP works the camera fully and normally like the stock, but the libs of stock makes bootloop at the phone, and these AOSP ones not... That's why I used them.

Weather Unavailable

I recently changed to my HTC 10 and since day one I have not been able to get the weather widget to retrieve my location. Changed every setting regarding location, even went and changed Battery Optimization settings for all related services and apps. Has anyone experienced this issue as well? Any workarounds?

Duplicate songs, some players not finding music, some songs have no file path

As the title says, my huawei Honor 5x has been having some issues. My normal song app, Black Music Player shows up with duplicate songs. Figured it was a cache problem. Deleted cache. Still persisted. Unmounted and re mounted as card. Still. Downloaded music player by leopard v7, and scanning music, I can't find any songs. My music is directly on a folder called Music in root of SD Card.

In black player, music skips. Like if click on a song, it'll play the next (that isn't duplicated). But if I click the same song that is dupped, it plays the next next song. It's odd. One of the songs that isn't dupped, it has the album or song picture. Whereas the dupped one doesn't. The dupped one without picture, when I hit edit, it has no file path.

In music player, I've tried everything. I can't find any way to make it see my songs.

Please help! :/

[KERNEL] Permissive Lollipop stock kernel for Samsung E Series

This is a permissive kernel built from source for galaxy E series.

As a music lover I always used to enjoy viper4android made by @zhuhang on my old phone.
Then I found about xtrememusic by PDesire and Divinebeats by @TheRoyalSeeker
Then I got the E series and those sound mods didnt work with selinux set to enforcing.

And now it runs flawlessly

All kernels are built from source with little to no improvement only selinux set to permissve.
Although I might have done some overclock or undervolting. I dont really remember. So enjoy.

If you are a music freak the i suggest to flash the xtrememusic mod or divinebeats mod . THEY ARE AWESOME.

This will trip the knox flag thereby potentially voiding your warranty.
I hold no responsibility in any case if you decide to flash this product.
